Renowned Dutch magazine Gitarist described Jazz guitarist Ed Verhoeff as possessing “phenomenal technique, beautiful sound, and harmonic depth.” Ed is often defined as a versatile player who connects Jazz, Brazil, Latin and rock. Blending it into a style of its own.
With great passion for improvisation, keeping the musical horizon open Ed is a wanted musician. Next to being a freelance musician Ed has produced a number of albums as a bandleader/ co leader.
Throughout his long career, he worked and toured with greats such as John Abercrombie, Adam Nussbaum, Philip Catherine, Lucas van Merwijk, Nueva Manteca, Izaline Calister, Ivan Lins, Hein van de Geyn, Angelo Verploegen, Ilja Reijngoud, Dudok string Quartet, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and the Metropole Orchestra.
Ed is currently a teacher at the Rotterdam conservatory Codarts and at the Academy of music and performing arts in Tilburg.
